Taylor Wyna Stewart
Taylor Wyna Stewart is a writer, amphibian enthusiast, and marketing professional from Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) with a Bachelor of Arts in English in 2018 and served as the Editor-in-Chief of Aura Literary Arts Review from 2016-2018.
She currently serves as the Communications Specialist for the Department of Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences housed within UAB’s School of Health Professions. Previously, she served as the Marketing Specialist for UAB Student Affairs, where she was awarded Star New Professional of the Year in 2022. She began her career serving the Alabama Symphony Orchestra as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator and continues to be one of the ASO’s top fans.
In November 2024, Taylor was elected to serve as the President of the Young Professionals of the Cahaba River Society. Many of her favorite memories take place on the Cahaba River, and it is a character often mentioned in this Substack.
Taylor hails from a family of humble artists and creatives. When she’s not with CRS’s young professional group, you might see her taking tickets at the Alabama Theater or coordinating communications on behalf of the Magic City Poetry Festival. She is the author of the Substack touchgrassfriday, a weekly letter about nature, need and memory. Her work has also been published in The Birmingham News, Capsule Stories, Emerge Literary Journal, and more.
